How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'After You've Gone' by Al Jolson

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Al Jolson tracks to try and understand what made Al Jolson tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Al Jolson's music. We then listened to the song 'After You've Gone' byAl Jolson, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'After You've Gone'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'After You've Gone' by Al Jolson. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'After You've Gone' by Al Jolson, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Al Jolson track 'After You've Gone'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Al Jolson, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'After You've Gone', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Al Jolson song ' After You've Gone'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
