How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Arnold Layne' by Pink Floyd

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Pink Floyd tracks to try and understand what made Pink Floyd tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Pink Floyd's music. We then listened to the song 'Arnold Layne' byPink Floyd, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Arnold Layne'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Arnold Layne' by Pink Floyd. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Arnold Layne' by Pink Floyd, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Pink Floyd track 'Arnold Layne'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Pink Floyd, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Arnold Layne', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Pink Floyd song ' Arnold Layne'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
