How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Before' by Pet Shop Boys

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Pet Shop Boys tracks to try and understand what made Pet Shop Boys tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Pet Shop Boys's music. We then listened to the song 'Before' byPet Shop Boys, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Before'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Before' by Pet Shop Boys. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Before' by Pet Shop Boys, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Pet Shop Boys track 'Before'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Pet Shop Boys, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Before', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Pet Shop Boys song ' Before'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
