How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Black Dog' by Led Zeppelin

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Led Zeppelin tracks to try and understand what made Led Zeppelin tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Led Zeppelin's music. We then listened to the song 'Black Dog' byLed Zeppelin, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Black Dog'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Black Dog' by Led Zeppelin. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Black Dog' by Led Zeppelin, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Led Zeppelin track 'Black Dog'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Led Zeppelin, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Black Dog', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Led Zeppelin song ' Black Dog'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
