How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Boss Drum' by The Shamen

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Shamen tracks to try and understand what made The Shamen tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with The Shamen's music. We then listened to the song 'Boss Drum' byThe Shamen, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Boss Drum'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Boss Drum' by The Shamen. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Boss Drum' by The Shamen, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original The Shamen track 'Boss Drum'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to The Shamen, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Boss Drum', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Shamen song ' Boss Drum'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
