How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Catch The Sun' by Doves

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Doves tracks to try and understand what made Doves tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Doves's music. We then listened to the song 'Catch The Sun' byDoves, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Catch The Sun'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Catch The Sun' by Doves. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Catch The Sun' by Doves, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Doves track 'Catch The Sun'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Doves, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Catch The Sun', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Doves song ' Catch The Sun'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
