How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Dance Away' by Roxy Music

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Roxy Music tracks to try and understand what made Roxy Music tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Roxy Music's music. We then listened to the song 'Dance Away' byRoxy Music, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Dance Away'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Dance Away' by Roxy Music. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Dance Away' by Roxy Music, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Roxy Music track 'Dance Away'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Roxy Music, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Dance Away', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Roxy Music song ' Dance Away'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
