How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Free Bird' by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Lynyrd Skynyrd tracks to try and understand what made Lynyrd Skynyrd tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Lynyrd Skynyrd's music. We then listened to the song 'Free Bird' byLynyrd Skynyrd, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Free Bird'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Free Bird' by Lynyrd Skynyrd. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Free Bird' by Lynyrd Skynyrd, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Lynyrd Skynyrd track 'Free Bird'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Lynyrd Skynyrd, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Free Bird', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Lynyrd Skynyrd song ' Free Bird'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
