How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Girls Girls Girls' by Jay-Z

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Jay-Z tracks to try and understand what made Jay-Z tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Jay-Z's music. We then listened to the song 'Girls Girls Girls' byJay-Z, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Girls Girls Girls'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Girls Girls Girls' by Jay-Z. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Girls Girls Girls' by Jay-Z, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Jay-Z track 'Girls Girls Girls'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Jay-Z, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Girls Girls Girls', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Jay-Z song ' Girls Girls Girls'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
