How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Happy Jack' by The Who

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Who tracks to try and understand what made The Who tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with The Who's music. We then listened to the song 'Happy Jack' byThe Who, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Happy Jack'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Happy Jack' by The Who. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Happy Jack' by The Who, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original The Who track 'Happy Jack'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to The Who, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Happy Jack', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Who song ' Happy Jack'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
