How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Hey Dude' by Kula Shaker

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Kula Shaker tracks to try and understand what made Kula Shaker tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Kula Shaker's music. We then listened to the song 'Hey Dude' byKula Shaker, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Hey Dude'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Hey Dude' by Kula Shaker. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Hey Dude' by Kula Shaker, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Kula Shaker track 'Hey Dude'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Kula Shaker, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Hey Dude', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Kula Shaker song ' Hey Dude'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
