How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Hot Stuff' by Donna Summer

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Donna Summer tracks to try and understand what made Donna Summer tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Donna Summer's music. We then listened to the song 'Hot Stuff' byDonna Summer, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Hot Stuff'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Hot Stuff' by Donna Summer. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Hot Stuff' by Donna Summer, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Donna Summer track 'Hot Stuff'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Donna Summer, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Hot Stuff', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Donna Summer song ' Hot Stuff'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
