How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Hot Water' by Level 42

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Level 42 tracks to try and understand what made Level 42 tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Level 42's music. We then listened to the song 'Hot Water' byLevel 42, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Hot Water'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Hot Water' by Level 42. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Hot Water' by Level 42, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Level 42 track 'Hot Water'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Level 42, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Hot Water', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Level 42 song ' Hot Water'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
