How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Julia Says' by Wet Wet Wet

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Wet Wet Wet tracks to try and understand what made Wet Wet Wet tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Wet Wet Wet's music. We then listened to the song 'Julia Says' byWet Wet Wet, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Julia Says'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Julia Says' by Wet Wet Wet. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Julia Says' by Wet Wet Wet, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Wet Wet Wet track 'Julia Says'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Wet Wet Wet, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Julia Says', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Wet Wet Wet song ' Julia Says'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
