How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Kingston Town' by UB40

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many UB40 tracks to try and understand what made UB40 tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with UB40's music. We then listened to the song 'Kingston Town' byUB40, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Kingston Town'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Kingston Town' by UB40. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Kingston Town' by UB40, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original UB40 track 'Kingston Town'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to UB40, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Kingston Town', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The UB40 song ' Kingston Town'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
