How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Last Christmas' by Wham

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Wham tracks to try and understand what made Wham tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Wham's music. We then listened to the song 'Last Christmas' byWham, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Last Christmas'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Last Christmas' by Wham. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Last Christmas' by Wham, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Wham track 'Last Christmas'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Wham, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Last Christmas', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Wham song ' Last Christmas'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
