How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Mamma Mia' by Abba

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Abba tracks to try and understand what made Abba tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Abba's music. We then listened to the song 'Mamma Mia' byAbba, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Mamma Mia'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Mamma Mia' by Abba. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Mamma Mia' by Abba, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Abba track 'Mamma Mia'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Abba, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Mamma Mia', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Abba song ' Mamma Mia'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
