In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many R.E.M. tracks to try and understand what made R.E.M. tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with R.E.M.'s music. We then listened to the song 'Man On The Moon' byR.E.M., a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Man On The Moon'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Man On The Moon' by R.E.M.. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Man On The Moon' by R.E.M., the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original R.E.M. track 'Man On The Moon'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to R.E.M., to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Man On The Moon', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The R.E.M. song ' Man On The Moon'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
