How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Manchild' by Neneh Cherry

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Neneh Cherry tracks to try and understand what made Neneh Cherry tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Neneh Cherry's music. We then listened to the song 'Manchild' byNeneh Cherry, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Manchild'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Manchild' by Neneh Cherry. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Manchild' by Neneh Cherry, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Neneh Cherry track 'Manchild'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Neneh Cherry, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Manchild', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Neneh Cherry song ' Manchild'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
