How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'National Express' by Divine Comedy

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Divine Comedy tracks to try and understand what made Divine Comedy tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Divine Comedy's music. We then listened to the song 'National Express' byDivine Comedy, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'National Express'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'National Express' by Divine Comedy. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'National Express' by Divine Comedy, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Divine Comedy track 'National Express'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Divine Comedy, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'National Express', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Divine Comedy song ' National Express'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
