How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Peace Train' by Cat Stevens

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Cat Stevens tracks to try and understand what made Cat Stevens tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Cat Stevens's music. We then listened to the song 'Peace Train' byCat Stevens, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Peace Train'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Peace Train' by Cat Stevens. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Peace Train' by Cat Stevens, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Cat Stevens track 'Peace Train'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Cat Stevens, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Peace Train', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Cat Stevens song ' Peace Train'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
