How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Pon De Replay' by Rihanna

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Rihanna tracks to try and understand what made Rihanna tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Rihanna's music. We then listened to the song 'Pon De Replay' byRihanna, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Pon De Replay'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Pon De Replay' by Rihanna. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Pon De Replay' by Rihanna, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Rihanna track 'Pon De Replay'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Rihanna, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Pon De Replay', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Rihanna song ' Pon De Replay'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
