How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Raspberry Beret' by Prince

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Prince tracks to try and understand what made Prince tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Prince's music. We then listened to the song 'Raspberry Beret' byPrince, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Raspberry Beret'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Raspberry Beret' by Prince. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Raspberry Beret' by Prince, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Prince track 'Raspberry Beret'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Prince, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Raspberry Beret', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Prince song ' Raspberry Beret'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
