How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Rip It Up' by Orange Juice

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Orange Juice tracks to try and understand what made Orange Juice tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Orange Juice's music. We then listened to the song 'Rip It Up' byOrange Juice, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Rip It Up'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Rip It Up' by Orange Juice. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Rip It Up' by Orange Juice, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Orange Juice track 'Rip It Up'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Orange Juice, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Rip It Up', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Orange Juice song ' Rip It Up'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
