How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Road To Nowhere' by Talking Heads

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Talking Heads tracks to try and understand what made Talking Heads tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Talking Heads's music. We then listened to the song 'Road To Nowhere' byTalking Heads, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Road To Nowhere'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Road To Nowhere' by Talking Heads. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Road To Nowhere' by Talking Heads, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Talking Heads track 'Road To Nowhere'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Talking Heads, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Road To Nowhere', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Talking Heads song ' Road To Nowhere'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
