How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Rock DJ' by Robbie Williams

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Robbie Williams tracks to try and understand what made Robbie Williams tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Robbie Williams's music. We then listened to the song 'Rock DJ' byRobbie Williams, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Rock DJ'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Rock DJ' by Robbie Williams. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Rock DJ' by Robbie Williams, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Robbie Williams track 'Rock DJ'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Robbie Williams, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Rock DJ', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Robbie Williams song ' Rock DJ'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
