How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Rock Steady' by Aretha Franklin

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Aretha Franklin tracks to try and understand what made Aretha Franklin tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Aretha Franklin's music. We then listened to the song 'Rock Steady' byAretha Franklin, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Rock Steady'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Rock Steady' by Aretha Franklin. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Rock Steady' by Aretha Franklin, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Aretha Franklin track 'Rock Steady'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Aretha Franklin, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Rock Steady', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Aretha Franklin song ' Rock Steady'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
