How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Rock The Casbah' by The Clash

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Clash tracks to try and understand what made The Clash tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with The Clash's music. We then listened to the song 'Rock The Casbah' byThe Clash, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Rock The Casbah'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Rock The Casbah' by The Clash. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Rock The Casbah' by The Clash, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original The Clash track 'Rock The Casbah'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to The Clash, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Rock The Casbah', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Clash song ' Rock The Casbah'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
