How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Russian Roulette' by Rihanna

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Rihanna tracks to try and understand what made Rihanna tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Rihanna's music. We then listened to the song 'Russian Roulette' byRihanna, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Russian Roulette'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Russian Roulette' by Rihanna. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Russian Roulette' by Rihanna, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Rihanna track 'Russian Roulette'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Rihanna, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Russian Roulette', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Rihanna song ' Russian Roulette'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
