How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Sale Of The Century' by Sleeper

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Sleeper tracks to try and understand what made Sleeper tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Sleeper's music. We then listened to the song 'Sale Of The Century' bySleeper, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Sale Of The Century'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Sale Of The Century' by Sleeper. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Sale Of The Century' by Sleeper, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Sleeper track 'Sale Of The Century'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Sleeper, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Sale Of The Century', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Sleeper song ' Sale Of The Century'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
