How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Sha La La La Lee' by Small Faces

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Small Faces tracks to try and understand what made Small Faces tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Small Faces's music. We then listened to the song 'Sha La La La Lee' bySmall Faces, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Sha La La La Lee'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Sha La La La Lee' by Small Faces. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Sha La La La Lee' by Small Faces, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Small Faces track 'Sha La La La Lee'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Small Faces, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Sha La La La Lee', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Small Faces song ' Sha La La La Lee'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
