How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Shooting Star' by Dollar

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Dollar tracks to try and understand what made Dollar tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Dollar's music. We then listened to the song 'Shooting Star' byDollar, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Shooting Star'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Shooting Star' by Dollar. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Shooting Star' by Dollar, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Dollar track 'Shooting Star'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Dollar, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Shooting Star', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Dollar song ' Shooting Star'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
