How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'So Strong' by Labi Siffre

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Labi Siffre tracks to try and understand what made Labi Siffre tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Labi Siffre's music. We then listened to the song 'So Strong' byLabi Siffre, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'So Strong'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'So Strong' by Labi Siffre. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'So Strong' by Labi Siffre, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Labi Siffre track 'So Strong'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Labi Siffre, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'So Strong', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Labi Siffre song ' So Strong'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
