How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Sugar Sugar' by The Archies

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Archies tracks to try and understand what made The Archies tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with The Archies's music. We then listened to the song 'Sugar Sugar' byThe Archies, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Sugar Sugar'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Sugar Sugar' by The Archies. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Sugar Sugar' by The Archies, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original The Archies track 'Sugar Sugar'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to The Archies, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Sugar Sugar', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Archies song ' Sugar Sugar'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
