How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'This Magic Moment' by The Drifters

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Drifters tracks to try and understand what made The Drifters tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with The Drifters's music. We then listened to the song 'This Magic Moment' byThe Drifters, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'This Magic Moment'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'This Magic Moment' by The Drifters. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'This Magic Moment' by The Drifters, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original The Drifters track 'This Magic Moment'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to The Drifters, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'This Magic Moment', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Drifters song ' This Magic Moment'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
