How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Under The Boardwalk' by The Drifters

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Drifters tracks to try and understand what made The Drifters tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with The Drifters's music. We then listened to the song 'Under The Boardwalk' byThe Drifters, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Under The Boardwalk'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Under The Boardwalk' by The Drifters. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Under The Boardwalk' by The Drifters, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original The Drifters track 'Under The Boardwalk'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to The Drifters, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Under The Boardwalk', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Drifters song ' Under The Boardwalk'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
