How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Visions Of China' by Japan

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Japan tracks to try and understand what made Japan tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Japan's music. We then listened to the song 'Visions Of China' byJapan, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Visions Of China'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Visions Of China' by Japan. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Visions Of China' by Japan, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Japan track 'Visions Of China'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Japan, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Visions Of China', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Japan song ' Visions Of China'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
