How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'We Are Detective' by Thompson Twins

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Thompson Twins tracks to try and understand what made Thompson Twins tracks sound so good! SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'We Are Detective' by Thompson Twins. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'We Are Detective' by Thompson Twins, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Thompson Twins track 'We Are Detective'.

We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Thompson Twins song ' We Are Detective'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
