How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'What About Now' by Daughtry

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Daughtry tracks to try and understand what made Daughtry tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Daughtry's music. We then listened to the song 'What About Now' byDaughtry, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'What About Now'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'What About Now' by Daughtry. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'What About Now' by Daughtry, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Daughtry track 'What About Now'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Daughtry, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'What About Now', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Daughtry song ' What About Now'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
