How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'What About Us' by Brandy

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Brandy tracks to try and understand what made Brandy tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Brandy's music. We then listened to the song 'What About Us' byBrandy, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'What About Us'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'What About Us' by Brandy. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'What About Us' by Brandy, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Brandy track 'What About Us'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Brandy, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'What About Us', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Brandy song ' What About Us'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
