How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'What If' by Jason Derulo

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Jason Derulo tracks to try and understand what made Jason Derulo tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Jason Derulo's music. We then listened to the song 'What If' byJason Derulo, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'What If'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'What If' by Jason Derulo. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'What If' by Jason Derulo, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Jason Derulo track 'What If'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Jason Derulo, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'What If', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Jason Derulo song ' What If'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
