How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'What Time Is It' by High School Musical

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many High School Musical tracks to try and understand what made High School Musical tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with High School Musical's music. We then listened to the song 'What Time Is It' byHigh School Musical, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'What Time Is It'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'What Time Is It' by High School Musical. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'What Time Is It' by High School Musical, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original High School Musical track 'What Time Is It'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to High School Musical, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'What Time Is It', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The High School Musical song ' What Time Is It'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
