How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Whatever You Want' by Status Quo

Creating a superb, Studio Quality, Professional Sound-a-like Karaoke, Playback, Backing Track is truly a musical challenge.

 

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Status Quo tracks to try and understand what made Status Quo tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Status Quo's music. We then listened to the song 'Whatever You Want' byStatus Quo, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Whatever You Want'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Whatever You Want' by Status Quo. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Whatever You Want' by Status Quo, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Status Quo track 'Whatever You Want'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Status Quo, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Whatever You Want', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Status Quo song ' Whatever You Want'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
