How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Words Are Not Enough' by Steps

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Steps tracks to try and understand what made Steps tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Steps's music. We then listened to the song 'Words Are Not Enough' bySteps, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Words Are Not Enough'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Words Are Not Enough' by Steps. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Words Are Not Enough' by Steps, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Steps track 'Words Are Not Enough'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Steps, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Words Are Not Enough', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Steps song ' Words Are Not Enough'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
