How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Young Fresh 'N New' by Kelis

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Kelis tracks to try and understand what made Kelis tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Kelis's music. We then listened to the song 'Young Fresh 'N New' byKelis, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Young Fresh 'N New'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Young Fresh 'N New' by Kelis. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Young Fresh 'N New' by Kelis, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Kelis track 'Young Fresh 'N New'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Kelis, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Young Fresh 'N New', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Kelis song ' Young Fresh 'N New'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
