How SingMe.co.uk created a karaoke backing track for 'Your Song' by Ellie Goulding

In this instance, the SingMe production team listened to many Ellie Goulding tracks to try and understand what made Ellie Goulding tracks sound so good! We gained an understanding of the musical genre associated with Ellie Goulding's music. We then listened to the song 'Your Song' byEllie Goulding, a number of times to decide whether there were 'live' musicians playing the various parts of 'Your Song'.

 

SingMe producers studied the rhythm section - Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Keyboards on 'Your Song' by Ellie Goulding. They also listened out for 'live' strings, orchestra, brass licks and woodwind, such as flute and saxophone.

 

Wherever there were 'live' instruments on 'Your Song' by Ellie Goulding, the SingMe production team used the very best professional session musicians to create an Instrumental, Playback, Karaoke Version Backing Track. We then overdubbed all the orchestral and brass parts until the track sounded very close to the original Ellie Goulding track 'Your Song'.

 

The SingMe team then researched its very best session singers to find singers with voices similar to Ellie Goulding, to sing backing vocals and harmonies on 'Your Song', where needed. We then recorded a singer who was really excellent at sounding like the lead singer or vocalist on The Ellie Goulding song ' Your Song'. This singer created the Vocal Guide (VG). (The Vocal Guide is simply the Backing Track plus the Lead Vocal sung by a professional session singer to sound similar to the original Artist.)
